SW20 Bumper Slat Reinforcement

• 3D Printed inserts made with ABS Plastic for high temperature resistance.

Install notes:

• Make sure the bumper mating surfaces are CLEAN. Scrub bumper inner with heavy duty degreaser. Ideally this is done with the bumper removed from the vehicle.

• Use 80-120 grit sandpaper to rough up the bumper mating surface for maximum adhesion. (little bumps and ridges hold better than smooth surfaces). And spray/wipe clean again after sanding. 

• Do NOT use super glue or gorilla glue!

• Use a urethane adhesive or epoxy meant for use on plastics.

  • I used Original JBweld 24h epoxy on my install of these, but have since found a flexible plastic variant that should work much better due to the flexible nature of the bumper: https://amzn.to/4g3UbiC 

  • This product has a short cure time so I recommend dryfitting everything beforehand.

  • For severely damaged bumpers, some metal flatstock, clamps, and heat may be needed to reform the bumper to avoid breaking the supports

• These are meant to hold the bumper in position while adhesive is drying, Make sure there is plenty of adhesive on all bumper faces and the supports, let the adhesive do the heavy lifting!

• Be mindful of adhesive on the back surface of the grille slats since this is where the original 'guards' clip into place

• Allow proper cure time according to the adhesive manufacture recommendation before reinstalling the bumper.
